Saturday 21st - Westcott Cricket Club, Milton Street, Westcott, RH4 3PX (just outdside Dorking on A25). First gig here, but I have played cricket there for years, really nice crowd should be a good night
 Sunday 22nd - Running Horse, Groveley Road, Sunbury, TW16 7LB - regular (fortnightly) Saturday gig have booked an extra date this Sunday, is starting to get quite busy

A quiet one so far this week, just my EOW residency
Saturday 28th June - Running Horse, Groveley Road, Sunbury
A nice crowd and starting to get a bit bust on Saturdays, but get there early and you will still get three or four songs in. Goes on until 11.45pm, start about 8.30pm.

Friday 4th July - Dog & Partridge, Edinburgh Drive, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 1PX - a virgin gig for FlatTones, first of four on Fridays every other week. Being a first gig will probably be plenty of opportunities to sing.
Saturday 5th July - Jenny Lind, 80 High Street, Middlesex, TW12 1NY - Another visit to the Jenny, previous nights have been great with a great crowd and good singers. A personal favourite. Sunday 6th July - Running Horse, Groveley Road, Sunbury, Middlesex, TW16 7LB - Another crack on a Sunday, very busy every other Saturday this is another Extra Gig. Last time on a Sunday was quiet on the singers front but the crowd is friendly and achieved Timbo's VENUE OF THE MONTH for June so give it a try yourself

Will come back to The Horse soon - plus may well make a guest appearance at The Crossroads - again, not with show 1, as I will be in Blackpool.

Something called "The karaoke after the Kylie gig at the O2" beckons me this Tuesday, but a maybe for next Tuesday - if I can get my karaoke hangover out of the system - no less than - get this - 16 sessions in 8 days. (4 on Sunday, 3 each on Monday and Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday and my regular Stirfry gigs - and add the O2 last night too)

Can I suggest you tell her that if she is the solo judge she will cause very bad feeling that could affect the business! To be honest having organised competitions up to national level the MOST important thing is to have judges that are independent and have NOT seen any of the singers beforehand. Whatever the result there will be some people dissapointed and if the management is involved it will be much more likely to cause trouble, in my view she shouldn't even be a judge never mind the solo one!

An absolutely fantastic night, quality of singers was through the roof and the pub was really busy. Which makes the decision to stop doing karaokes there all the more puzzling
particularly as at the end of the night more than half of the finalists came up to me and said "see you next Tuesday" and I had to explain that the management have decided not to carry on  C'est La Vie

Tuesday 11th November - The Jenny Lind, 80 High Street, Hampton Hill, Middlesex, TW12 1NY - sixth week of ten heats to be followed by final on Tuesday 16th December. 8.30 - 11pm. Not your normal ultra competitive competition, this is a fun night where someone qualifies for the final at the end of the evening. Was a good three weeks ago but really quiet again last week, we need more singers pleeeaaassee!!! KARAOKE COMPETITION Thursday 13th November - The Magpie, 68 Terrace Road, Walton on Thames, KT12 2SF. 8.30 - 11.00pm - this will be fortnightly, again ten heats followed by a final. Another light hearted comp, the first heat was reasonably busy with some good singers. Saturday 15th November - Running Horse, Groveley Road, Sunbury, Middlesex, TW16 7LB - regular fortnightly gig, good pub, friendly people, and cheap beer |

Great to see Karaoke Kiwi & Daddy Brubeck last Monday, sorry about the poor sound - apparently the pub had someone come in on Friday to sort out their speakers which were shocking last week having been really good for the first two heats. Next time will be taking my own as a back up!

Well, I ended up coming down last night - complete with decorated T-Shirt, thanks for the compliments all including Cat and a couple of others (go to www.printwhatyouthink.co.uk to design your own) - instead of doing Venue of the Months now, I now bestow what is in fact the equivalent of Noel's "Golden Eggs" and the Egg-cademy, having poached the length and breadth of the UK, "scrambled" through dozens of karaokes (Editors Note: Stop cracking yolks!), and has whittled out all of the "fowl" shows, has decided to award our first ever Golden Egg Karaoke Venue Award to................The Old Ship.
